Crafting on a budget.

A few months ago I did a class with the theme crafting on a budget. We recycled some old cd's and made them in to mini albums, the ones that come free with the Sunday papers are ideal.

This tutorial shows you how to make a mini album using a Bind It All, but if you haven't got a Bind It All miss out the first step cutting a straight edge and after decorating the cd's you can punch a hole in each one and hold together with a book ring and decorate with ribbons.

Materials used 5 cd's
Bind It All
Yen Garden double sided papers from GCD
Retro flower punch
Brads
Tape
Glue Stick

First of all cut a straight edge on all the Cd's for binding.

Put double side tape round the edge of all cd's on both sides and a couple of pieces across the middle. It is best using short pieces of tape around the edge to avoid wrinkles.

Remove backing off tape on one side of a cd and cover all over lightly with glue stick. Place on paper and cut round as close to the edge as possible. Repeat on all sides. Bind with Bind It All and add photos, decorate with ribbons and embellishments.

I covered the tops of two brads with glossy accents and dipped in glamour dust for the centres of the flowers, glitter can also be used.

A quick and simple very low cost little album that can be made using scraps of paper left over from other projects.

  2. Hi Gez.

CD's are fine in a BIA as long as you do one at a time. They also make lovely circular books when punched with a crop-o-dile and threaded on a ring. Lynne xx
