Hello, It's been a long time...

Good morning to all my crafting buddies, sorry I have been missing for soooo long, over a week! My modem has been acting up for a while now. Last Tuesday I spoke with 3 people on the phone which took up 4 hours of my precious crafting time, got 3 different suggested solutions, none of which were any good........ on Thursday I spoke with a tech guy called Graham and he agreed with me a new modem was required...that is in the post somewhere, fingers crossed it arrives today. I've managed to get online this morning with the old modem so this will be a short post.

I have been very busy crafting some of which I can't show until after the big day, but I will share a birthday card with you this morning, I made it for Ann Flutterbycrafter

The card is 8 x8 I used 7 Gypsies 8 x 8 papers T!ms stamps and a wide assortment embellishments.

I stamped the papers and some card stock to make embellishments with. Covered a chipboard bird inked the edges, embossed the acetate layer held on with a brad for the eye half a stamped clock face for the wing finished off with a crown.

This card has many layers of paper, webbing, gaffer tape stamped images....

I also decorated the inside of the card, made a pocket with tag. The tag was decorated unfortunately I forgot to take a pic. I really enjoyed making this card for Ann, it has been a long time since I got to sit and really have a good play, hopefully I won't have to wait till we get snowed in again! lol Although looking at this weeks weather forecast maybe it won't be that long..

Hopefully our new modem will arrive today fingers crossed then we will get caught up with a few things around here.
Take care and happy crafting Love Lynne xx

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Hope you are all managing to keep warm today. It is freezing here in Sheffield again today. I have spent the day crafting, working on a scrapbook for a customer. I am really pleased with how much I got done. It was lovely sitting in the warm looking at the frost through the window. The trees and fence completely white as if covered in snow, very pretty.

My card tonight is a Thank you card, I made yesterday. The best thing about this weather is all the crafting time you get.

The card is 8 x 8 Embossed Bazill Parakeet Peekabook, Bo Bunny Peacock Lane, Magnolia image coloured with distress ink. Flowers punched used medium and small EK Success Retro punch finished off with pearl pen and Stickles. All products used from Craft Den
.

We have been closed during the bad weather, we will be open tomorrow from 10.00am - 4pm Our Tuesday morning card class is running this week also Wednesday night craft class and all day card making on Saturday, weather permitting. The parking area is full of frozen snow, so for the time being we have no parking on site. All classes must be booked in advance by phoning the studio between 10.00am - 4.00pm - Tuesday to Saturday.

Hello crafters, it has stopped snowing at last but it is brass monkeys brrrrrrr..
Been for a lovely walk out this morning, now it is time to get back to my crafting.
I thought I would show you one of the Christmas cards I made yesterday

The backing papers are from a Making Memories 8 x 8 pack of 20 sheets called Noel. Just love them, so I warn you there will be more using this pack. Tilda with candle stamped and coloured using Copics. All items used available at the Craft Den

The Christmas card I blogged yesterday was also using papers from the Making Memories Noel pack and not My Minds Eye as stated. I have now edited the post, sorry for misleading you all. It can be viewed here

I am off to do some more crafting while the goings good. BH is out clearing some snow to make a path to the front door. Alfie only has short legs so he has to follow us or Ike, otherwise he kind of sinks in, the snow is that deep at the front.

Take care, keep warm and happy crafting.

Transportation

It is snowing and blowing outside the dogs have been out with BH this morning and now they are both snoring. A few months ago you may remember that the vet put Alfie on a diet. I didn't think we were over feeding him, but went along with it. Alfie didn't lose any weight, after speaking with another vet, Alfie had a couple of blood tests which revealed he had an under active thyroid. Alfie has been on his medication 2 weeks today and it is just wonderful the change him in. We have our very mischief Alfie again and we are thrilled. It has been fabulous to see him chasing around in the snow. He is now bringing my slippers again in the mornings something he has not done for ages. Two days ago when I woke up there was an assortment of shoes, boots, slippers, both BH's and mine piled up at the side of the bed, it was almost as if he was telling me he was feeling better...

The snow is falling all around us.......

Is this snow never going to give up?Looks like another crafting day to today it is definitely crafting weather don't you think?

This mornings card is one of my many orders, at least I should be able to catch up with those this week.

I have struggled with this card as I always do when asked to make a mans cards, I find it so much easier to make womens and childrens cards. BH said to stop faffing around and just get on with it, so I did.. I took some transportation stickers added more layers. The card is 8 x 8 I have used an assortment of grey and black card and ribbons.

Our theme this week over on our challenge blog Anything Goes is Congratulations, we have left the Novembers ATC swap 'Let It Snow' is open for the time being as a lot of you have not been able to get in and the theme for December is 'Christmas'

The snow is falling all around us...can't get that tune out of my head, don't know why? lol

Crafting weather...

Are you all enjoying this lovely weather we are experiencing at the moment?

It just doesn't seem to know when to stop, does it? It may look lovely through the window but it is a pain getting about, it was over the top of my boots this morning so goodness knows what it will be like tomorrow as it is still snowing here.
I have spent the afternoon crafting. I had some birthday cards to make for orders which I will blog later and I also made a few more Christmas cards. I have got a lot of my images coloured ready so I am hoping I can crack on with our Christmas cards later.

I have used Making Memories Noel backing paper, inked a Craftwork cards frame for Tilda with lantern to sit on, cut a Doo Hickey tag inked and stamped, Prima flower, punched a variety of MS snowflakes, holly leaves, branch and EK Success rock punch, finished off with Stickles and red gems. The ticket is from a Darkroom Door Christmas stamp set, stamped cut out and inked.
All products available from Craft Den. Hope you like it.

Just in case you haven't seen enough snow today, I have some more pictures for you.

The dogs have had a great time playing in the snow, they just didn't want to come back in doors they were chasing one another round and round the garden.

Happy crafting Lynne xx

Snow, Snow, Snow, Snow, Snow

and even more Snow. Will it ever stop snowing? I have taken a few pictures this morning through the conservatory window and thought I would share them with you all. This is my garden in Sheffield UK at 8.30am on Tuesday 1st December 2010 It is now 10.00am and it has never stopped today yet.

I was trying to show the snow piling up on the window ledge

How deep do you think this is on the table?

I will definitely be scrapbooking these.

My daughter has walked to work this morning, it has taken her 2 hours but she has arrived safely, thank goodness. For those of you who know Sheffield she has walked from near Meadowhall to Collegiate Crescent off Ecclesall road.

The snow did not put the seasoned crafters off last night for the 2nd of Jill's wreath making workshops... yes they put there walking boots on and came out to play...

I took a couple of pics while we were having our break, tea and mince pies.
This one is mine, I have given the one I made on Sunday to my Mum.

Jill's wreath sat on the corner of the table.

I like this pic of the busy table. I did promise them I would not blog faces, so I have chopped there heads off! Kathryn kept out of the way for this one.

What ever you are doing today, keep warm and safe. If like me you are lucky enough to stay in doors happy crafting, yes that's all I will be doing today and maybe going out later to get some more pictures. Our theme this week over on our challenge blog Anything Goes is Congratulations why not join us we would love to see what you create. Is it snowing where you live? I would be great if you showed us the scene through your window this morning too!
Love and hugs Lynne xx

Good morning bloggers, hope you are not snowed in and you are managing to keep warm.
It is snowing here this morning in Sheffield we have a light covering over the ice and snow we already had and looking at the weather looks like there is a lot more to come this week.
We have been lucky enough to have a guest florist at Craft Den this weekend.

The lovely Jill came along to show us how to make beautiful Christmas wreaths.

The studio before anyone arrived...

Not has planned

I didn't get to spend the day crating after all, we did something far better, yes I did say far better, we went to visit Ava.

We had just finished breakfast when Ben phoned to see what we had planned. He didn't have to ask twice if we wanted to go over for the day. Ava has been poorly on and off for several weeks now, she had a flu virus at the end of September and has never seemed to pick up properly, catching one bug after another ever since.
We have had a lovely day although Ava has been very quiet and not her usual bouncy self, she spend most of her time cuddled up on Granddads lap. It was lovely to spend the day with her never the less. We are hoping that she is on the mend now, she goes back to the docs tomorrow so fingers crossed.

Another card order, this time a bit more more my style 'cute blue card for sister' I have used my all time favorite stamp 'Daisy' backing paper is from Basic Grey Wisteria collection, teamed with lemon and blue Bazzill, Prima flowers and bling, flower charm, Craftworkcards sentiments finished off with pearl pen and Stickles.

Hope you like it.

Hope you have all had a lovely weekend.
Happy crafting.

Buddha card

Good morning to all my crafting buddies. I hope you are all having a lovely weekend. I have a got a lovely crafting day a head of me. I have got lots of cards to make both for myself and for orders.

My card this morning was for a customer who wanted a large Buddha in lilacs and purples for her Mum. Wasn't really sure where to start with this one. Have a look and let me know what you think I always enjoy reading your comments.

I started with a A3 sheet of purple card fort he main card and used Bo Bunny Peacock Lane for the backing sheet. Built a lovely big flower with a mix of white and purple paper and silk blooms added a brad and charm lots of pearl pen and Prima bling. The image is coloured with Copics cut out and matted and layered a few times for a bit more dimension,

a few punched flowers and lots of Stickles.

The Prima bling looked fab, doesn't really sparkle in my picture.

Really enjoyed making this card as it was a pleasant change from Crimbo cards.

What ever you are up to today enjoy.
Happy Crafting.
