Scrapbooking

Phew! what a struggle I've had tonight loading a few pictures... as I have said before technology is wonderful, when it works!! but when it doesn't arrrrggghhhh! it drives you insane.

So here they are are,Thursday night is scrapbooking night at Craft Den and this is tonights layout.

I have used Delilah paper collection from Bo Bunny. The main background of the layout is called 'Stripe'. I have cut a circle from 'You and Me' distressed and inked the outside edge, torn and scrunched the inside edge and left white, raised with some silicone and added some brads that look like screw tops. The leaves are cut from a sheet of 'Pretty'. T!ms new Elegant Flourish die to finish off.

The pics are my BH last summer taking the old garage roof off ready for the new one.

Well I am off to bed now, It has taken soooo long to load these pics! Lynne

WOYWW

Well I haven't blogged for a few days but lots to show and tell tonight.

First off all WOYWW sorry, I didn't manage to join in last week. There are a few tags that are drying, a little bird house I am preparing for a workshop, dabbers and stapler and ribbon.

The white one has gesso on the next two have Viva Terra on, this is a great paste for making textured backgrounds. There are several colours in the range, when the paste dries it can be painted over with acrylic paint, so it doesn't really matter what colour you use.

The tag to the left hand side of this picture has already been painted with acrylic paint, it is now ready for embellies. If you would like to join in WOYWW take a picture of your worsk space blog it and then pop over to Julias blog to link it so we can all come over for a nosey.

We had a Sizzix delivery today of T!m's Alteration dies: Gadget Gears, Elegant Flourish,  Movers and Shapers Ornamental, Key Holes, the next delivery is due towards the end of next week with the rest of range.

Craft Den Studio is celebrating it's 2nd birthday this week. I does not seem like two years at all. It has really flown by and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I have meet so some lovely people and made so many wonderful friends! Thank you ladies Craft Den would not be the same with out you all xxx

it is such a pretty pink and the pin and flower embellishment finishes it of beautifully.

and in the little box...

this beautiful necklace made with Pardo clay. Thank you Sandra I love it!

My pictures do not show the true colours of the clay very well so I have taken a picture on black card

and on white to try and show the colours better.

Wedding card

Yesterday Bob and I went to our friends wedding. They could not have had a better day weather wise the sun was shining it was glorious.  Julie wore an amazing dress in greeny gold she had made herself she looked fabulous and Andrew wore a gorgeous black and gold jacket that he had designed. A very talented and creative couple, they make a great team.

This is the wedding card I made for them, in the same colours as the bag

I stamped a pearlescent sheet of paper with a peacock feather background stamp, highlighted with a dark purple stickles.
I wanted to make a card with feathers on as both Julies dress and bouquet had peacock feathers in.

I had bought some satin ribbon flowers with diamante centres to use in just the right colour such a good match they did not show up!!

so I popped on some felt flowers I had got for another project!! Stickled the edges of the flowers and the hearts.

It is a lovely sunny day here in Sheffield so I am off to do some crafting in the garden, it is just to nice to be inside we have to make the most of it while it is here. Hope you have a great weekend too. Lynne x

Silk bag update

I hope you have all been out and about enjoying the lovely weather today. I have been doing some more work on the silk bag I am making, so thought I would give you an update. It should have been finished by now, but I have been suffering this week with head aches so I am bit behind now, so nothing new there then!!

The rods have settled in nicely now and started rolling in themselves. I have now sewn silk sari ribbon in between the rods, this has added to the texture and colour of the bag beautifully.

I have hand sewn small blue and green beads and flower shaped sequins on to the silk rods and also in between on the felt of the main bag. There are a lot more to go on yet.

This is the inside of the bag, you can just see the lines of machine stitching where I have attached the rods and sari ribbon.

The strap pinned inside ready for hand stitching

The bag is now starting to take shape

the silk lining behind the bag sewn ready for pinning in

One of the 3 cocoon flowers which will be attached to one side of the bag, I have hung this on a paint brush to give you a better idea how it will look on the bottom of the bag

Any one for a ride?

For tonight's scrapbooking class I have used a selection of Blonde Moments papers, pearls and stamps. All a perfect match for Ava and her bike, in fact lots of other photographs of Ava I have waiting to be scrapped.

I used a Colour My World template for the frame, cut out inked and fake stitched around the edges, shaped slightly and raised off the page with silicone. Stamped a heart border and painted with Blonde Moments pearls, left to dry and then added Glossy Accents. When dry I attached my heart border on to a strip of purple cardstock then on bright pink fine weave web and finally onto black cardstock finished of with a more fake stitches. Cut out two hearts matted and layered them on black cardstock outlined with Glossy Accents. Stamped two flowers with clear Versa Mark and embossed with black embossing powder, cut out and attached with silicone. Finished off with some Blonde Moments stamped words 'Sweetie' 'Twinkle Toes' and 'Gorgeous' The pictures are Ava playing outside the studio last Saturday which was a lovely sunny day here in Sheffield. If you have enjoyed your visit, please leave a comment then I can pop over to you. Thursday!!

Where has this week gone? I can believe it is Thursday again the days just seem to be flying by!
I was suffering with a real bad head ache yesterday so after last nights class, it was straight to bed for me! I still have a bad head this morning but not as bad! Fingers crossed it will go soon. We made some lovely little acrylic books last night. We did a couple of different folds to make the pages with pockets ready for adding tags added a few extra cardstock pages. Decorated with distress inks stamped a few flourishes and swirls and bound on the BIA. Another finished project all ready for adding pictures. I will take some pics later, last night I just wanted my bed. :-(

The Magnolia mags and stamps are selling fast. If you have a magazine and stamps ordered they are now sorted  and ready for collection. Contact the studio if you wanted them posted out Tel; 01142340732.

Sorry I did not get to join in with WOYWW hopefully I will be more organised next week! :-(

I have heard a whisper that Jill, the one with no blog is giving in, and getting a blog!! Whooooooo!

That's all for now. Lynne xx

13 April 2010

A Midsummers Night Dream & Jill!!

The new Magnolia mag has arrived today, a whole day early, not very often do any of our deliveries arrive a day early!! a day or two late but never early. The funny thing is that Jill with no blog Jill must have some kind of 6th sense as every time we get a Magnolia delivery Jill is never very far away and today is no exception. Late this afternoon there was a knock on the back door, which was the Magnolia delivery and ten minutes later Jill walked in the front door!!! I don't know how she does it, but she knows you know! lol

Thats all tonight folks I am absolutely shattered! I woke at 4am this morning and never got back to sleep. So I am off to catch up on some shut eye. I will update the website tomorrow with Magnolia stamps and mag.
Don't forget I am not around in the morning. Lynne xx

Scrapbooking

Here is a page for my family album. I have several albums on the go at the moment, keep jumping from one to another. Thursday's layout had a picture of my Mum in her pram and this one is of Mum's younger sister Sheila, who I know sometimes reads my blog! I have a large tag cut for my journaling which will slide on the ribbon. I know where it is I just need to get a date.

The papers are from the Basic Grey Origins collection

Sizzix die cut flower with in corrugated card mixed brown BB, black button threaded on string and tied with a knot. I took a small bunch of silk flowers to bits for the leaf, it has such fabulous texture.

Hand drawn flourish using black Viva pearl pen a further flower with large brad and button centre.

Flippin cards!!

I have made Five 'Flippin' cards from La Pashe all for orders. I took some pictures at different stages now they are all finished the camera battery is flat so I shall blog the finished cards tomorrow, hopefully I will have time and remember before they are collected

This is one of my favourites she looks as though she is sat eating salad and readinga diet book. When the card is opened it reveals a big chocolate and cream cake behind the salad. That would be me!! lol

The five characters all decoupaged up on strings, ready to put into the cards.

Cheers!

I have really enjoyed making them, which is easy to say now they are all finished! I prefer the new A5 size decoupage with the backing sheet. I have used 3 of the A5 'Flippin' oval decoupage cards in white and inked the font with distress ink for the other two cards I have cut the oblong apertures out gold soft gold pearlised card with a craft knife.
