Wet Felting...

After spending a wonderful weekend at the textile and wool fair in Sheffield I was itching to get creative and make something. So this afternoon I got out my collection of Merino wools

along with the new ones I bought at the show

I decided to use a selections of several different shades of green and cream for my project.

I've taken several pictures to show the changes in the fleece during the felting process

This picture shows the fleece is starting to mesh together

a close up of my favorite side. This is the side I am going to build my project on.

Hello to all the ladies I meet this weekend.

Craft bag

After a cold, dull and breezy morning the sun is now shinning here in Sheffield and things to seem to be warming up a little. Yesterday I spent most of the day sewing. I finished off a craft bag that I started a couple of weeks ago. I have used 6 different patterned fabrics in checks, spots and flowers.

The base is 10" square x 15" tall, so really big and roomy with lots of deep pockets all the way round the outside to hold lots of stuff.

I have quilted the main bag, base and handle and lined all the pockets to strenghthen them.

Hello to my new followers, I hope you enjoy your visit.

I did manage to get round a few blogs on Saturday night and leave a few comments, unfortunately it was short lived as blogger was acting up again yesterday and would not let me comment on many blogs, don't worry I will be back to have another go later.

Hope you are all having a great relaxing bank holiday weekend and what ever you are doing Enjoy!

Happy crafting, love hugs Lynne xx

Down in the jungle...

A few months ago I decide to make a quilt for my then expected Grandson. I bought all the fabric, wadding etc, as he is now over six weeks old and growing fast I thought I better get cracking. The fabric I bought had blocks of jungle animals on.

I have cut the blocks from the panel and sewn strips of contrasting fabric around the blocks and then shashed the blocks together with a second contrasting colour.

All layered up ready for quilting, so thats what I will be doing this and making the cot bumper.

What ever you are doing this weekend enjoy and lets hope the rain holds off.

Thursday night's scrapbooking class...

Good morning all, Monday again already the weeks are just flying by. The sun is shinning here in Sheffield at the moment although more of the wet stuff forecast for later :-(

This is my page from last Thursdays scrapbooking class. The floral papers are from SEI which is already lightly glittered and clear embossed here and there to highlight some of the flowers. The backing sheet pale green Bazzil Dotted Swiss. The border is a deep edge MS punch brads, gem and pearls from my stash.

These flowers were just waiting to be cut and punched out.
Thank you to those of you who took the time to email me about not being able to leave comments, its nice to know you are still calling by. I was unable to blog again yesterday and I know a lot of people are still having major problems too, lots of gremlins in the works just lately.
Hope the weather is good with you today. I am going in the garden while its fine got to make the most of it while we can.
Happy crafting love and hugs to you all. Lynne xoxo

First scrapbook page...

Several weeks ago at our weekly scrapbooking class at the studio I was asked if I could create some pages suitable for boys. This was one of the layouts I came up with. It has been sat waiting patiently for a picture... I thought this one was perfect for it, Baby Rocco one day old.

The papers are from Best Creations transportation range I have used 'Taffic Jam'. By cutting around the traffic that is along the bottom of the sheet and mounting on to a dark blue card with foam pads I was able to use the full sheet with out any waste at all. The plane and banner are cut on the Cricut using the New Arrival cartridge which I have a feeling might get a lot of use over the coming months.

Natasha brought these gorgeous cupcakes to class on Thursday night to celebrate Roccos arrival, blue icing and blue foil cases mmm they were delicious. Thank you Natasha it was a lovely thought.

Hope you all have a great weekend and the sun is shinning where ever you are.

Alfie and the hot air balloon

Good morning to you all. It is a bit dull and overcast here in Sheffield this morning no sign of the sun, at least it is dry. When I signed into Blogger this morning everything looks different... does this mean all the updates are finished and we can blogg happily now... mmm I wonder... time will tell I am sure.

No crafty pictures to blog this morning, a few of a hot air balloon that came over our garden last night. A few of our good friends paid for BH and I to go up in a balloon very similar to this one for our wedding present. It is our anniversary on Tuesday so it was fabulous to see and brought back some lovely memories of a beautiful day and some very good friends...

Alfie was hidding in the kitchen peeking out of the back door until the coast was clear....

What was it?....has it gone yet?
Poor Alfie, he really didn't like it, must admit it was very low.

Happy crafting and what ever you are doing today ENJOY!

Patchwork bag class at Craft Den!

Good morning to you all on this bright and sunny Sunday morning. Yesterday was the first of our patchwork bag classes at Craft Den. When this went on the timetable it was so popular we decided to run the class twice, which is great as this means we had such an enjoyable day and we get to do it all again next week!

Jo aka Daisy 236 was our guest tutor for the day and has very kindly agreed to run a monthly patchwork sewing class for us! Yippee! I am so pleased about this as I love sewing and have done for many years.

My bag waiting for the button to be added so the top is pinned.

Thank you Jo for a very enjoyable relaxing day. Just what the doctor ordered, can't wait for next week, might have to make another! lol

One for the boys

Good morning to you all. Well here I am again two days running, fingers crossed all seems well...

I thought I would show you another card from Saturdays class, this time it was one for the boys. I think we all struggle with mens cards as we can't fill them up with blooms and bling... well I suppose we could, they might not like it, but we could. lol

We used a blue 6 x6 card blank, a strip of Ranger Kraft Resist paper coloured with a mixture of Distress Stains, some blue and red embossed colour core paper sanded back a circle of grunge board highlighted with glossy accents a washer and brad T!ms Old Jalopy die and some Viva Decor Inka Gold in Cobalt blue and Old Gold to finish off. Not a flower or blingy bit in site, not even a hint of Stickles.

All that leaves me to say is Thank Crunchie its Friday! I am hoping to pop round and visit you all this evening as I have a nice quiet evening planned, so I can catch up on what you all have been up too, I have missed you all, it has been very strange not being able to blog hop for so long.
Happy crafting love and hugs Lynne xoxo
