Stitches 2012

I spent last weekend at Stitches - Creative Hobby and Stitch at Birmingham NEC. We arrived in  Birmingham bright and early on Saturday morning with plenty of time for a little retail therapy which started in the Bull Ring shopping centre. A bull made of Jelly Beans.

Then it was on to the NEC for a fabulous afternoon of crafting. In our first workshop with T!m we made this great little wall hanging made up of two mini canvases which we decorated using lots of yummy Ranger products including the fab new distress pens, love em, they are a real must have for any crafter.

In our second workshop we altered a book with Dyan.
We used Dyans wonderful Dylusions stamps, stencils and sprays.

We made 4 pockets within the pages

and decorated some tags.

to pop inside the pockets.

Thanks T!m and Dyan for a wonderful afternoon of craftiness.

Rabbits in our rockery!!

Well the weather here in Sheffield is wicked it today it is windy, wet and dark a very gloomy day and to top it all snow is forecast later!! Anyway I am very nice, warm and dry here in the studio sorting my scrapbooks out. Since I got back into sewing my scrapbooking has taken some what of a back seat...

For this layout I have used Graphic 45 papers from the Once Upon A Spring Time collection Primrose Cottage

It was this picture that gave me the idea for the page, Ava looks as though she is watching something in the rockery.

The little rabbits are cut out of a sheet of Fairy Folk from the same collection. I stamped some grass here and there and have decoupaged the flowers and rabbits to give some depth to the page.

Really enjoyed myself doing this, always did like Beatrice Potter stories.

We have a new challenge over on our Anything Goes blog the theme is 'Love Is' IndigoBlu are sponsoring us this fortnight with a £20 voucher to spend on IndigoBlu stamps. How fabulous is that. So why not pop over and see what our wonderful talented design team have come up with this fortnight and join in. Don't forget anything goes so it can be a card, scrapbook layout, tag, mini book the list is endless.

Our DT call is still open until Monday 30th January

Another Quilt...

This one is what I made for my Mums Christmas box, she had no idea that I was making it...when she unwrapped it on Christmas day, she said "Is this for me" lol

Again I tried it on my bed for size...it would be a shame not to wouldn't it? :-)
The fabrics are Moda and you may recognise the design and colours Basic Grey Origins.
Isn't it great when you can get your favourite papers in fabric, what more could a girl want?

Patchwork classes

Happy New Year to you all and best wishes for 2012, lets hope it's a good one! :-) I am not sure where the last couple of months have gone, I blinked and it was 2012... lol

Although I haven't been blogging I have managed to fit some crafting in

After making so many Christmas cards it was a pleasant change to make a birthday card. I used the fabulous Graphic 45 Alice in Wonderland papers and some rolled ribbon flowers I love making these and I think they finish the card off perfectly, don't you?

I also decorated the inside.

Since Jo and I started the patchwork classes a few months back I am hooked again. I hadn't made anything for ages and now there is no stopping me, bags, cushions, blinds and quilts.... If you love sewing or fancy having a go at patchwork and quilting, no experience necessary the new timetable can be viewed here

These are the cushion covers we will be making on Jan 21st

in your colour choice and applique design choice, more information available on booking.

Over on our challenge blog Anything Goes we are on challenge 57
The colour BLUE and one other colour, so why not pop over and take a look at what our fabulous design team have been up to and join in?

Wet Felting...

After spending a wonderful weekend at the textile and wool fair in Sheffield I was itching to get creative and make something. So this afternoon I got out my collection of Merino wools

along with the new ones I bought at the show

I decided to use a selections of several different shades of green and cream for my project.

I've taken several pictures to show the changes in the fleece during the felting process

This picture shows the fleece is starting to mesh together

a close up of my favorite side. This is the side I am going to build my project on.

Hello to all the ladies I meet this weekend.

Craft bag

After a cold, dull and breezy morning the sun is now shinning here in Sheffield and things to seem to be warming up a little. Yesterday I spent most of the day sewing. I finished off a craft bag that I started a couple of weeks ago. I have used 6 different patterned fabrics in checks, spots and flowers.

The base is 10" square x 15" tall, so really big and roomy with lots of deep pockets all the way round the outside to hold lots of stuff.

I have quilted the main bag, base and handle and lined all the pockets to strenghthen them.

Hello to my new followers, I hope you enjoy your visit.

I did manage to get round a few blogs on Saturday night and leave a few comments, unfortunately it was short lived as blogger was acting up again yesterday and would not let me comment on many blogs, don't worry I will be back to have another go later.

Hope you are all having a great relaxing bank holiday weekend and what ever you are doing Enjoy!

Happy crafting, love hugs Lynne xx

Down in the jungle...

A few months ago I decide to make a quilt for my then expected Grandson. I bought all the fabric, wadding etc, as he is now over six weeks old and growing fast I thought I better get cracking. The fabric I bought had blocks of jungle animals on.

I have cut the blocks from the panel and sewn strips of contrasting fabric around the blocks and then shashed the blocks together with a second contrasting colour.

All layered up ready for quilting, so thats what I will be doing this and making the cot bumper.

What ever you are doing this weekend enjoy and lets hope the rain holds off.

Happy Crafting love and hugs Lynne xox
