So Funny!!

Can you believe it is 4:45am on a very wet Wednesday morning in Sheffield. I have been up since 3:15am can't sleep, so I have been catching up on a few jobs!! Bonkers I can hear you all say, and yes you are probably right!! I hate it, when I can't sleep and just wriggle around in bed, so I got up. It is lovely sitting here listening to the rain pounding down on the conservatory roof and the dogs snoring!! lol Boy oh boy are they snoring!

The good news is I have found my camera. It was in a box with some rubber stamps and paint brushes!! So I have just taken a couple of quick pictures. We managed to get two cards made in yesterday mornings card class. Here is one of them

we used the new Gorjuss girls boxed kits, which contain enough to make 5 cards. By making some background papers using some Bazzil Basic card, stencil and distress inks. I used weathered wood and faded jeans, we managed to get 9 cards out of each kit.

A view from the top to show the inside of the card

While I had the camera out I thought I would take a quick picture of Alfie, snoozing in his chair. But he obviously did not take kindly to me disturbing him, as he stuck his tongue out at me!!  LOL

How funny is he??? What do they say? a picture says a thousand words, can't wait to scrap this one!!

What do you think the title should be??

OK well I am off back to bed now, what ever you are doing on this very wet Wednesday, enjoy!! and make sure you make time to fit some crafting in. Lynne xx

Crafting Weekend

We have all enjoyed a fabulous day at our all day monthly crop. Thank you ladies for making it such a great day. We managed to fit in three layouts. I have no pictures for you tonight as I am absolutely shattered, I will blog all the layouts we did in a couple of days, it might not be tomorrow as we are off to the NEC in the morning.

Ava called earlier with her Mum & Dad in her new pink shoes. She loves em! lol So I have had a few cuddles, she is such a little cutie, full of giggles tonight.

I am struggling to keep myself awake, so time to give in and go, to bed, it is only 8:30pm. We have a really early start in the morning 7:30am the clocks go forward tonight making 6:30am and then NEC here we come, Yippee can't wait really looking forward to it.

What ever you are doing tomorrow, have a good time. Lynne xx

What more could you want?

As you all know I have 2 dogs, Ike & Alfie. Alfie is about 2  1/2 years old and Ike is an old boy who will be 10 in November, we think.

My morning routine, get up, go and switch the kettle on, go to the bathroom in bare feet. By the time I get back to the kitchen to make my coffee Alfie is there with a slipper for me!

This is Alfie this morning bringing my slipper

when he has given me the first slipper, and got a small reward, he goes off and gets the other one! No one has taught him to do this, and I just think he his a real star! I don't have to look for slippers ever again! What more could I want? I would like him to look for keys, mobiles...... lol    Only joking Alfie.

and this is Alfie waiting for a treat. You can just see Ike is standing at the side of him waiting for a treat too! He's a wise old dog and gets in on the act for the treats! lol

Ike  brings you slippers when you get home everyday. Ike was about 3 years old when we rescued him and he has always brought slippers or shoes, we did not train him to do this he did it from a few days after he came to live with us. Alfie was about 5/6 weeks old when our daughter brought him home, and Ike has been like a Dad to him, looking after him, washing him when he was very small. So IKe could have taught him or Alfie just learnt from Ike who knows but I just think it is great, don't you?

We received our first Easter card yesterday from the lovely Jill, that is the lovely Jill who makes lovely cards and should have a blog Jill. Hope you are reading this Jill and got the message if not you need a blog Jill! lol Thanks Jill I love it.

and the inside of the card

The stamp and papers are from our new Wild Rose studio collection which are all fabulous.

Well all I have to say now is thank Crunchie it is Friday!

All day scrapbooking tomorrow and NEC Sunday, like I say what more could any one want?
Let me know if you are going to the NEC and would like to meet up as I love to put faces to names.

WOYWW

It's Wednesday again so that can only mean one thing, 'What's on your workdesk Wednesday' I joined in for the first time last week and if you want to join in hop over to Julia's blog and to find out more. Last week I showed a picture of our dinning room table. I craft at one end and we eat at the other, unless we have visitors and then I have to pack it away. What I usually do is shove it in the spare bedroom!!  BH is constantly asking how much room do I need, when he can't get to the table at all for meals!! So tonight when he asked if I had been in the spare room, I stop for a moment to think What did I leave in there? and when I opened the door to have a peep...

shelves in the spare room for my crafting stuff and...

for the printer! So I am sorry I have not got a picture of a work desk for you this week as the dinning room table is clear! The spare room is a little messy but who knows next week I may have a desk, table or some kind of work space to show you. Thanks for popping by and now I am off to see what you have on your work desk.

Day out in Chesterfield...

We have had a lovely family day out today. My daughter picked me up at 9am, we went and picked my Mum up and headed over to Chesterfield.  There we meet up with Ben and Ava...

who was full of fun as always

                show us ya teeth

we went for lunch

after we had been to Clarks for Ava to get her little feet measured for her first pair of  shoes - size 3 1/2  F

I think Ava has got good choice, don't you?

...chilling with Dad before we set off back

Ava came back to Sheffield with us and had a quick nap in the car

... it is hard work all this shopping.

Hope you have all had a good day too. Now I am off to sort out the  tutorial page.

Tutorials...

Well it is a nice dry Sunday morning here in Sheffield, not very bright, I don't mind that as long as it stays dry while we are out.

I have had a few emails asking how I make my paper roses, and other flowers. This got me thinking that maybe I should write a tutorial. For those of you that can get to the studio I will be making some in class one Wednesday evening on craft night, but for those of those of you who live further a field I will write a tutorial.
Many, many years ago when I was in my teens I lived in Eyam, Derbyshire, many of you will have heard of it as the plague village and visited on a school trip at some time. During the summer holidays all the people of the village made paper flowers for decorating out side the houses also lorries, tractors, cars etc etc... were decorated for the for our village carnival which was held each September. The procession of decorated vehicles travelled up and down the full length of the village twice on carnival Saturday once in the afternoon and again in the evening.
When I get back I will write a paper flower tutorial... so watch this space as they say. What ever you are doing today, have a great and if you are off to Harrogate enjoy and don't spend too much !! lol

Paper Roses.

Well it's the weekend again! This week seems to have gone over with a blink of the eye. Looking forward to tomorrow Bobbie (my daughter) and I are taking my Mum to Chesterfield. We plan to fit in a little retail therapy before meeting Kyla, Ben and little Ava for lunch. So more on that tomorrow.

I made a couple of birthday cards yesterday. Here is one of them I think it is safe to show as it should have arrived this morning.

The backing paper is from one of the new 6x6 paper stacks from Wild Rose Studio - Milton & Co the pack contains 36 sheets - 12 designs 3 sheets of each £4.99 The colours in this pack are green, orange, brown and white, floral and butterflies.

I have used the Tilda baking stamp from Magnolia as the lady I have made the card for likes baking and brings delicious muffins and cakes to class. Petaloo flowers MS frond punch for leaves finished off with a charm and some stickles.

This week I joined in with WOYWW so you might have seen this paper rose lurking on my desk or one like it  made from newspaper. I have made a few of these this week

they look great sprayed with Glimmer Mist, Crafty Notion sprays or something similar. For this one I have used Gold Crafty Notions spray

Let me know what you think.

Easter muffins and a bit of scrapbooking

This is my 12 x 12 layout from tonights scrapbooking class. This one is for my Mum's album. The papers are from K & Co Madeline range.

I sprayed a white paper doily lightly with a gold Crafty Notions spray, dried with heat gun and then sprayed again lightly with Tattered Angels bronze and dried again, inked around the edges with Old Paper distress ink to cover any white areas.

I cut a group of flowers, shaped and attached with silicone glue to give it some depth and then highlighted with star dust Stickles. Punched some leaves with my MS frond punch in cream Bazzill Bling and brown Bazzill Basic. Inked the edges of a couple of chipboard butterflies with fired brick DI added a few Prima hydrangeas more Stickles in cinnamon, gold and gold liquid pearls

The photograph is of my brothers in 1954 on Red Hillocks in Bretton Derbyshire

At coffee time we had more cakes!! Tonight Mary had baked Simnel Easter Muffins with mini chocolate eggs on the top! They were delicious, thank you Mary. Last week I lost a couple of pounds this week I must have put at least 4 on!!

We are nearly at Crunchie time again!! It has come round quick this week don't you think!

WOYWW

I remembered it's Wednesday!! Every week I think that I will join in, next thing I know it's Thursday! Anyway this is my little bit of workspace this week, the dinning room table, it does vary where I find to craft. Now for what is on my workspace, the mess I left last night!! or rather the early hours of this morning. Some Gorjuss girls decoupage that is already mounted with silicone ready to make up into cards, some punched leaves and flowers, stamp and papers from the Wild Rose Studio

Well we have been busy little bees at tonight's craft class making some lovely Pardo jewellery. It was also Mo's birthday and it was Sandra's a couple of weeks back. Ann, Flutterbycrafter had made a chocolate mocha cake for Mo and a white chocolate cheesecake for Sandra now the cake was delicious but the cheesecake was to die for!! mmmmmmm really yummy. Thank you Ann your a star, we are all so pleased to have you back crafting with us... and making cakes for us!! :-) We must be the luckiest crafters going having the best cake maker ever in our group!!

This is Mo's Chocha Mocha! drool, drool

and this is Sandra's white chocolate cheesecake... come on admit it you are really drooling now, it's dripping off ya chin!

Thanks again Ann ... and ladies for making this evening a very enjoyable one. Oh just remembered that busy taking the pictures of the cakes I forgot to take any of the jewellery!! :-(

Ok it is now 11:30pm and I promised myself an early night, so thats all for now see you all tomorrow Lynne xx

Another Gojuss Card!!

Here is another Gojuss girl card made from a different die cut decoupage kit from the same range. Scroll down to last post to view the 1st one I made yesterday. I have now opened one of each of the 5 kits! I just could not resist! lol The problem I have now is I don't know what has come from which kit or which one to make next!! lol

This is an 8 x 8 white card with a backing sheet from one of the kits. I couldn't find a suitable coloured sheet of cardstock to use for backing my decoupage piece.  So I cut a large scalloped oval from White Bazzill with my beloved nesties and lightly chalked from the outside edge in, to tone down the brightness of the white card stock I have placed a small black pearl on every 3rd scallop.

The rose is a lovely pale duck egg blue which I have edged with Waterfall Stickles. It is rather a large rose so this card will need a box. I have cut two black flowers on the Cricut to sit the rose on and placed a crystal on each petal. The foliage is an MS Fond punch.

I have punched a black border from a piece of Bazzill with a MS border punch and placed a crystal at the base of each of the cut outs for added detail, they remind me a little of seeds.

I have left a space for the sentiment to be added.

Right I am off to bed now as it is 1:20am!!

First Gorjuss Card

Here's the 1st of my Gojuss girl cards made from one of the die cut decoupage kits. The image was die cut in an oblong with frame like corners. I wasn't too sure about the corners. So I have used my straight oval nestie and then cut a black Dotted Swizz scalloped edge oval to layer the image onto. I prefer this than the original. The striped backing sheet is from the kit and the little sentiment 'Innocence and Harmony' is from the toppers kit

A MS butterfly, frond leaf and loop punched strip from a piece of  bright pink Bo Bunny Double Dot
paper a few flowers from my ever growing stash, I just can't resist buying paper flowers! lol

All finished off with some pink Stickles.

Just Gorjuss!

Have you heard about the Gorjuss girls now out in die cut decoupage? Those fabulous Gorjuss girls which we all love are now avialable and instock in die cut decoupage.

Three sheets of die cut decoupage and two contrasting backing sheets in each pack. There are five packs in the range, three sets of decoupage, one of tags and one of toppers.

A lovely family Mothers Day

Hope you are all having a lovely day and if you are a Mum you are getting pampered! My lot have just gone after spending a lovely family day together. Ava decided not to walk today while she was here, there must have been too many people watching! lol Oh well all in good time.

This is the card I gave my Mum. I have used my all time favorite stamp, Daisy from Sugar Nellie. Coloured with Copics and cut out with a Nellies Choice round multi frame added small lemon pearls and layed on a larger silver scalloped circle of card cut with my nestie. A selection of Prima blooms stacked up and finished off with a bead spacer and brad with pearl top and a heart charm.

This close up shows how bright and sunny the colours are

Ava sat in her high chair and ate all her Sunday lunch and then had to help her Dad out with his Ice cream!

Ava wouldn't look at me so Ben held is hand in the air and that is what Ava is reaching out for.

A quick cuddle with Mummy before it was time to go!
