WOYWW

Well this has got to be a first for me! Joining in WOYWW before the 12th hour!

So what is on my work space this week? Well I am still crafting on the dinning room table and driving BH mad!! He is very tidy and organised and I'm neither, poor man what he has to put up with! :-)
Last weekend we didn't have any staying over visitors, that's the only time I clear the decks if we have people staying. The rest of the time Bob and I sit at one end of the table there is just enough room for 2 place mats and 2 coasters, what more do you want? lol

A half finished princess carriage that has been like this a while and might be like it a little while longer too, has I have lost a part! Another 'HAPPY' book  for a silver wedding, just been gathering everything together to get it started, to the right a card I made yesterday and near the back a card I have been working on using stamp tapestry peg stamps to go around the aperture to frame a pic of Ava for my Auntie.

Some storage ideas for you, these are from Wickes DIY store and great for storing your hardware bits and bobs in. I have 2 but already planning on buying some more they are so useful.

Lots of useful sized compartments inside.

I keep all my idea-ology stuff in

This is from IKEA to keep cleaning products in, but as I don't do cleaning!! I keep my dabbers, distress paints, Claudine's etc in, just the job for carrying too!

I will be over to have a snoop what you have on your desk later, hope you have been tidy this week :-) lol

Craft Den 2nd birthday Blog Candy tomorrow, sorry it is late, but you know what they say better late than never! Lynne xx

Black & White

Just a quick post with a couple of cards from last weeks classes, with a black and white theme. Papers from Black Market Paper Society teamed up with black and white card stock.

A4 white card scored and folded, a piece of black card cut slightly smaller to leave a white edge all round and punched along the bottom edge. The patterned paper is cut slightly smaller again leaving a narrow black edge all round and enough cut off the length to reveal  the punched edge.

I have used the largest die from labels set eight from Spellbinders for the white card and the next size down for the black. This is a great shape for making backers for flowers or other embellishments. The smaller dies from this set are also useful for stamping sentiments on.

I have cut a strip of black card and a narrower strip of grey to make a band to tie the black organza ribbon around.

The flower is made using the blossoms die but any flower die or punch could be used. I have used layers of white tissue to make the flower held together with a black brad and very lightly inked the edges with black soot to give the flower some depth and highlight the layers.

Any of you that enjoy gardening or growing plants might like to see  a pic of my Catus Last Sunday it had one single flower which has now died off...

but look at it this week, and it is full of buds.

Had a lovely day out yesterday, my daughter and I picked Mum up and went over to Eyam. We were lucky with the weather as when we got back BH said it had been raining here in Sheffield on and off, so he had stayed in and watched the footy, oh dear what a shame I had missed that! :-) It is hail stoning here in Sheffield at the moment and the noise of them landing on the conservatory is deafening!! Alfie is not sure about it, he is staying close.

Hope you have all had a great weekend too!

Scrapbooking

Phew! what a struggle I've had tonight loading a few pictures... as I have said before technology is wonderful, when it works!! but when it doesn't arrrrggghhhh! it drives you insane.

So here they are are,Thursday night is scrapbooking night at Craft Den and this is tonights layout.

I have used Delilah paper collection from Bo Bunny. The main background of the layout is called 'Stripe'. I have cut a circle from 'You and Me' distressed and inked the outside edge, torn and scrunched the inside edge and left white, raised with some silicone and added some brads that look like screw tops. The leaves are cut from a sheet of 'Pretty'. T!ms new Elegant Flourish die to finish off.

The pics are my BH last summer taking the old garage roof off ready for the new one.

Well I am off to bed now, It has taken soooo long to load these pics! Lynne

WOYWW

Well I haven't blogged for a few days but lots to show and tell tonight.

First off all WOYWW sorry, I didn't manage to join in last week. There are a few tags that are drying, a little bird house I am preparing for a workshop, dabbers and stapler and ribbon.

The white one has gesso on the next two have Viva Terra on, this is a great paste for making textured backgrounds. There are several colours in the range, when the paste dries it can be painted over with acrylic paint, so it doesn't really matter what colour you use.

The tag to the left hand side of this picture has already been painted with acrylic paint, it is now ready for embellies. If you would like to join in WOYWW take a picture of your worsk space blog it and then pop over to Julias blog to link it so we can all come over for a nosey.

We had a Sizzix delivery today of T!m's Alteration dies: Gadget Gears, Elegant Flourish,  Movers and Shapers Ornamental, Key Holes, the next delivery is due towards the end of next week with the rest of range.

Craft Den Studio is celebrating it's 2nd birthday this week. I does not seem like two years at all. It has really flown by and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I have meet so some lovely people and made so many wonderful friends! Thank you ladies Craft Den would not be the same with out you all xxx

it is such a pretty pink and the pin and flower embellishment finishes it of beautifully.

and in the little box...

this beautiful necklace made with Pardo clay. Thank you Sandra I love it!

My pictures do not show the true colours of the clay very well so I have taken a picture on black card

and on white to try and show the colours better.

Tonight has kick started the celebrations and tomorrow we will have news of some Blog Candy.

Wedding card

Yesterday Bob and I went to our friends wedding. They could not have had a better day weather wise the sun was shining it was glorious.  Julie wore an amazing dress in greeny gold she had made herself she looked fabulous and Andrew wore a gorgeous black and gold jacket that he had designed. A very talented and creative couple, they make a great team.

This is the wedding card I made for them, in the same colours as the bag

I stamped a pearlescent sheet of paper with a peacock feather background stamp, highlighted with a dark purple stickles.
I wanted to make a card with feathers on as both Julies dress and bouquet had peacock feathers in.

I had bought some satin ribbon flowers with diamante centres to use in just the right colour such a good match they did not show up!!

so I popped on some felt flowers I had got for another project!! Stickled the edges of the flowers and the hearts.

It is a lovely sunny day here in Sheffield so I am off to do some crafting in the garden, it is just to nice to be inside we have to make the most of it while it is here. Hope you have a great weekend too. Lynne x

Silk bag update

I hope you have all been out and about enjoying the lovely weather today. I have been doing some more work on the silk bag I am making, so thought I would give you an update. It should have been finished by now, but I have been suffering this week with head aches so I am bit behind now, so nothing new there then!!

The rods have settled in nicely now and started rolling in themselves. I have now sewn silk sari ribbon in between the rods, this has added to the texture and colour of the bag beautifully.

I have hand sewn small blue and green beads and flower shaped sequins on to the silk rods and also in between on the felt of the main bag. There are a lot more to go on yet.

This is the inside of the bag, you can just see the lines of machine stitching where I have attached the rods and sari ribbon.

The strap pinned inside ready for hand stitching

The bag is now starting to take shape

the silk lining behind the bag sewn ready for pinning in

One of the 3 cocoon flowers which will be attached to one side of the bag, I have hung this on a paint brush to give you a better idea how it will look on the bottom of the bag
