Bouncing Ava

Normal service has been resumed today!!
Mum has been lucky and had no repercussions from her fall yesterday. Both the pooches seem to be on the mend. Alfie has been doing a lot more sleeping than usual, he didn't get up until 6am this morning.

Thank you to every one who has emailed me today to find out how Mum is.

My daughter bought Ava a baby bouncing tigger seat. Here are a few pictures that my BH took on his phone for me when he was visiting the other day.

Dizzy Morning

Sorry for being a bad blogger over the last couple of days I have not been feeling too well.

This morning I heard BH go out with Alfie the youngest of our two dogs for their early morning walk. I was just thinking about getting up when I heard the phone ringing... arrrrgggg missed it!! I've not been feeling too well for the last few days and after jumping out of bed and rushing to the phone I felt decidedly dizzy!! Yes more dizzy than usual!! lol The caller had with held the number I was just wondering who it could be when it rang again... City wide alarms to say Mum had fallen out of bed and was stuck on the floor. I rang my daughter who is one of Mum's carers and also has a spare key. Fifteen minutes later my daughter rang to say that she was at Mums with the paramedics who were waiting outside when she got there. Mum was OK but due to her disabilities couldn't get herself off the floor. I then got to thinking that BH and Alfie were out a long time when I saw them come into the garden.
Both dogs have been ill for a few days, Ike had an injection on Thursday to stop him vomiting and now Alfie had been ill again while they were out!!
What a morning this had turned out to be and it was still only 6:45am!!

Five months already!!

Doesn't time fly? My granddaughter Ava is five months old today, It has gone so fast!
I took lots of pictures of Ava today, as now I have made a start on my album of Ava I thought it would be nice to make one for my Mum, and then I got to thinking it would be a lovely Christmas pressie for Ben and Kyla as Ava will be one year old in January I could make one of Ava's first 12 months. I mentioned this to my daughter and she has seen the few pages I have already done and although she likes scrapbooking doesn't get much time and said she would love one too! So that's my pressies sorted and most of my free time spoken for!! lol What free time???

Anyway that is enough of my ramblings, let me show you today's pictures.

I manged to get both Mum & Dad on this one!! Grandad is stood behind me acting the fool as Ava wouldn't look at the camera! So that's Ava thinking what's he doing now?

I just love this little sun dress, with matching shoes and frilly socks aren't they gorgeous?

That's all for now... so what ever you are doing tomorrow make sure you enjoy yourselves and the nice weather while it lasts.

At last a finished page of Ava

Last week I decided it was time I started my album of Ava. I have hundreds of photographs of her on the computer and not one printed off. While sorting through them I couldn't believe how much she has changed. I have spent this evening putting some finishing touches to my first page. I have used pictures from Mums birthday meal a few weeks ago.

Angelina Tutorial

Angelina fibres are plastic and when heated fuse together. Take required amount of angelina fibres and lay between two sheets of paper. I have taken small amounts of 3 colours for this project, lemon, pink and blue. Iron using medium heat setting. Excess heat will alter the colour properties. Too little heat and the fibres will not bond.

The Angelina fibres will only bond to themselves and to crystalina and fusible film. Gold flake, threads, skeleton leaves, feathers can be put in between the layers to created added effects. The fused fibres can be stitched and decorated with embellishments.

You can also place Angelina fibres between fusible film to create a different effect. Fusible film is made of the same material.

Ink up a stamp with Staz On, I have used blazing red for this project and Blonde Moments flutterby stamp.

Lay a sandwich of fusible film and fibres on top of stamp carefully as so not to smudge the ink lay a piece of paper over top.

With heat setting on medium gentle iron. Lift paper at one corner to see if the film and fibres have fused.

Remove ironed sandwich of film and fibres from stamp.

Now cut round stamped image to make embellishment. Stamp a single image on a piece of film with matching colour Staz On allow to dry and cut round large wings and body. Attach with dries clears pva glue at body part only.

Hope you enjoyed my little tutorial and found it useful. I will post a picture of my finished card later.

Crafting on a budget.

A few months ago I did a class with the theme crafting on a budget. We recycled some old cd's and made them in to mini albums, the ones that come free with the Sunday papers are ideal.

This tutorial shows you how to make a mini album using a Bind It All, but if you haven't got a Bind It All miss out the first step cutting a straight edge and after decorating the cd's you can punch a hole in each one and hold together with a book ring and decorate with ribbons.

Materials used 5 cd's
Bind It All
Yen Garden double sided papers from GCD
Retro flower punch
Brads
Tape
Glue Stick

First of all cut a straight edge on all the Cd's for binding.

Put double side tape round the edge of all cd's on both sides and a couple of pieces across the middle. It is best using short pieces of tape around the edge to avoid wrinkles.

Remove backing off tape on one side of a cd and cover all over lightly with glue stick. Place on paper and cut round as close to the edge as possible. Repeat on all sides. Bind with Bind It All and add photos, decorate with ribbons and embellishments.

I covered the tops of two brads with glossy accents and dipped in glamour dust for the centres of the flowers, glitter can also be used.

A quick and simple very low cost little album that can be made using scraps of paper left over from other projects.

What no pictures!!!

It was scrapbooking class tonight. We used Bo bunny papers from the Love shack range, dotted swiss cardstock from Bazzill and the border lace punch from Fiskars. The finished layouts were fantastic and guess who forgot to take photographs!! Lets hope somebody did! LOL

Today I have received a few emails asking how we made the book covers using the agelina fibres. I will make another one tomorrow and do some step by step photographs to help explain and show you.

I might have forgotten to take photographs of the scrapbook pages, but what I have got are some pictures of Ava on Sunday.

Doesn't she look lovely with her sun hat on?

Ava was in the studio this evening with her Mum and Dad. I had a cuddle and then started preparing for tonights class, when Ben told me Ava was trying to get my attention. I looked up and Ava was looking at me while tapping on a chair trying to get me to look!! I was really surprised, but pleased she wanted me to go over to her, and when I did she started laughing.

The book with no name!!

Tonight we have been making the front and back covers for our next project the book with no name. I had seen something similar a few weeks a go, which had given me the idea, but I never thought to give it a name!!

For the front cover we ironed and stamped agelina fibres. Covered the greyboard with contrasting papers and then stuck the agelina on. A few flowers and dew drops were added.

Mo used blue and green fibres and then stamped with black Staz on.

Sue used blue fibres with a hint of lemon.

Sarah used bright pink fibres.

Sandra used blue and lemon sparkle fibres.

Ann used lemon sparkle with a splash of pink stamped with black.

Chanelle used lemon sparkle fibres stamped with cherry red.

Toady's deliveries:
Paper Artsy Crowns and Castles stamps

AT long last the EK Sucess Retro flower punch has arrived and the nested punches.

Bundles of yummy ribbons.
