Any one for a ride?

For tonight's scrapbooking class I have used a selection of Blonde Moments papers, pearls and stamps. All a perfect match for Ava and her bike, in fact lots of other photographs of Ava I have waiting to be scrapped.

I used a Colour My World template for the frame, cut out inked and fake stitched around the edges, shaped slightly and raised off the page with silicone. Stamped a heart border and painted with Blonde Moments pearls, left to dry and then added Glossy Accents. When dry I attached my heart border on to a strip of purple cardstock then on bright pink fine weave web and finally onto black cardstock finished of with a more fake stitches. Cut out two hearts matted and layered them on black cardstock outlined with Glossy Accents. Stamped two flowers with clear Versa Mark and embossed with black embossing powder, cut out and attached with silicone. Finished off with some Blonde Moments stamped words 'Sweetie' 'Twinkle Toes' and 'Gorgeous' The pictures are Ava playing outside the studio last Saturday which was a lovely sunny day here in Sheffield. If you have enjoyed your visit, please leave a comment then I can pop over to you. Thursday!!

Where has this week gone? I can believe it is Thursday again the days just seem to be flying by!
I was suffering with a real bad head ache yesterday so after last nights class, it was straight to bed for me! I still have a bad head this morning but not as bad! Fingers crossed it will go soon. We made some lovely little acrylic books last night. We did a couple of different folds to make the pages with pockets ready for adding tags added a few extra cardstock pages. Decorated with distress inks stamped a few flourishes and swirls and bound on the BIA. Another finished project all ready for adding pictures. I will take some pics later, last night I just wanted my bed. :-(

The Magnolia mags and stamps are selling fast. If you have a magazine and stamps ordered they are now sorted  and ready for collection. Contact the studio if you wanted them posted out Tel; 01142340732.

Sorry I did not get to join in with WOYWW hopefully I will be more organised next week! :-(

I have heard a whisper that Jill, the one with no blog is giving in, and getting a blog!! Whooooooo!

That's all for now. Lynne xx

A Midsummers Night Dream & Jill!!

The new Magnolia mag has arrived today, a whole day early, not very often do any of our deliveries arrive a day early!! a day or two late but never early. The funny thing is that Jill with no blog Jill must have some kind of 6th sense as every time we get a Magnolia delivery Jill is never very far away and today is no exception. Late this afternoon there was a knock on the back door, which was the Magnolia delivery and ten minutes later Jill walked in the front door!!! I don't know how she does it, but she knows you know! lol

Thats all tonight folks I am absolutely shattered! I woke at 4am this morning and never got back to sleep. So I am off to catch up on some shut eye. I will update the website tomorrow with Magnolia stamps and mag.
Don't forget I am not around in the morning. Lynne xx

Scrapbooking

Here is a page for my family album. I have several albums on the go at the moment, keep jumping from one to another. Thursday's layout had a picture of my Mum in her pram and this one is of Mum's younger sister Sheila, who I know sometimes reads my blog! I have a large tag cut for my journaling which will slide on the ribbon. I know where it is I just need to get a date.

The papers are from the Basic Grey Origins collection

Sizzix die cut flower with in corrugated card mixed brown BB, black button threaded on string and tied with a knot. I took a small bunch of silk flowers to bits for the leaf, it has such fabulous texture.

Hand drawn flourish using black Viva pearl pen a further flower with large brad and button centre.

Flippin cards!!

I have made Five 'Flippin' cards from La Pashe all for orders. I took some pictures at different stages now they are all finished the camera battery is flat so I shall blog the finished cards tomorrow, hopefully I will have time and remember before they are collected

This is one of my favourites she looks as though she is sat eating salad and readinga diet book. When the card is opened it reveals a big chocolate and cream cake behind the salad. That would be me!! lol

The five characters all decoupaged up on strings, ready to put into the cards.

Cheers!

Toilet

I have really enjoyed making them, which is easy to say now they are all finished! I prefer the new A5 size decoupage with the backing sheet. I have used 3 of the A5 'Flippin' oval decoupage cards in white and inked the font with distress ink for the other two cards I have cut the oblong apertures out gold soft gold pearlised card with a craft knife.

Don't push it!

It is not as bright and sunny here in Sheffield this morning, not like yesterday, it was a beautiful day. So might just have to stay in and craft until it brightens up. My new years resolution was to finish off all the half made projects I have. I started with all good intention and then fell by the wayside after just a few weeks!!

As you all know Alfie fetches my slippers in a morning for me. Now he is getting very clever as after I have my slippers he will fetch a pair of shoes. If I don't put my slippers out of reach, he will keep bringing them after I have put my shoes on! This week he has carried the post in from the post man too! Every morning when he brings my slippers he gets a small treat taken from his daily allowance, as he is on a diet! Not my doing the vets, I don't think he is over weight he charges round in the garden like a mad thing and if he finds a ball he will bring it all day long for us to throw. Any way, when Alfie keeps coming with my slippers I tell him not to push his luck as he can't have any more treats. So when I saw a horse called 'Don't push it' running in the Grand National yesterday, I just had to have a flutter on it didn't I? and it won!! Just might have to take Ava shopping later! :-)

Ava is loving getting out in the garden everyday

here she is having a little rest while wondering what to do next! lol

What every you are doing, enjoy! Lynne xx

Snails!!

Last year Jill (that is the Jill with no blog) sent me a great card, it was in the shape of a pair of knickers, the sentiment read 'the older you get the bigger the pants' This is the card I made for Jill who's birthday it was on Friday.

I have used papers from a Basic Grey 6 x 6 pad from the Sugar Rush range.

Today has been a lovely sunny day here in Sheffield, it was ideal weather for getting your bike out.

Now Ava is walking she keeps herself very busy.

While investigating the rockery she found a snail shell, luckily no one was home!

What's this Dad?

all gone!!

What ever you are doing this weekend make sure you enjoy it. Lynne xx

Scrapbooking

Thursday evenings scrapbooking class layout. Background BB Dotted Swiss we inked a pattered with DI frayed burlap through a large doilie. half a sheet of scalloped Flutter Butter from Bo Bunny.

I have used a picture of my Mum in her pram. Love this picture. Llook at the lovely fluffy bonnet which I would guess was hand knitted by my Grandma and the huge pram. This is not the original photo. I have so many albums on the go I am not using any originals! In some way it deafeats the object as I have a big box of photos under the bed which I am slowly sorting through.

Flowers are made using a mix of MS and EK Success punches and leaves. Sizzix chipboard Swirl inked with Frayed Burlap and decorated with pearl pen.  Lynne xx

I've forgotten the cable!!

Last night we made a mixed up mini album. Three different size and shaped pages in black white and grey. The first page was a Maya Road shaped page, inked in black soot, a white scalloped oval added, which had been cut with a nestie, layered on this was a blacked panel which had been embossed in a Cuttlebug folder fastened together with two brads. The next page was a large tag cut on the Sizzix in corrugated card. We distressed the edges and inked, added a small panel of embossed metal painted with black acrylic paint which was sanded back when dry and mounted on a small square of chipboard, holes punched and screw style brads added to two corners finished of with some black spotty ribbon. the back page we covered in Blonde Moments papers added loose weave hessian, a thinnish coat of Viva Ferra dried off with the heat gun, a narrow band of white acrylic paint down the middle finished off with black and silver ribbon.

I have taken photos of both last nights mini album and tonights scrapbooking layout remembered the camera and left the card reader in the studio, I have already been back twice tonight, so I will add them in the morning, mean while you can pop over to Chanelle's and Kerry's.

WOYWW

This is how my work space looks tonight, not very interesting. I had a tidy up earlier as I have some birthday cards to make and a couple of albums. I am back crafting on the dinning room table! My work room is on hold at the moment. I planned on having a big sort out over Easter, but the weekend came and went in a flash! seemed to go quicker than normal to say it was a long weekend.

These are some of the bits and piece I bought at the NEC to make a bag.

Silk rods, felt, ribbon, beads sequins, embroidery thread and silk cocoons

I broken down the fibres in the rods and split them laid them on to the the felt and machine stitched them down the middle, this stitching will be hidden with various embellishments.

I've attached a few sequin flowers and seed beads. I have more beads and embellishments to sew on, and a few french knots to add for decoration between the rods. I have already made a silk lining but still have the strap and fastener to make I hope to finish it this weekend.

A few tags

Hope you have all enjoyed your Easter Bank Holiday weekend. The weather has managed to keep fine here in Sheffield today but it has been a bit chilly. We had the best day of the weekend yesterday. For me that was good because everyone managed to get in the garden for a while.

I have a few tags to show you that I have prepared for tomorrows class, we will be playing with Ranger colour washes, Glimmer Mists and Crafty Notion sprays along with masks a few stamps and getting generally messy.

for this tag I used a resist technique using a Ranger colour wash in Butterscotch and Meadow, love these two colours together.

same technique using Denim and Eggplant

I have been working on something else this weekend so I might pop back later with some pictures, I will see how I get on.

I am also planning some more blog candy when I reach 100 followers!! Only 7 more required so if you are not already a follower and you would like to become a follow and help me help me reach 100 then I will launch some scrummy, yummy blog candy.  Lynne xx

4 April 2010

No stopping her now!!

You have to be quick now if you want a picture of little Ava because she is always off somewhere...

it is really lovely to see her waddling around!!

Mum and Dad forgot to bring Ava's highchair, but that didn't matter Ava sat on a dinning chair with the rest of us, growing up fast now

so while Ava was sat I managed to get a few pictures

Hope you are all having a great weekend too! Lynne xx

Day Off

Good morning to you all. It is a nice fine morning here in Sheffield today, It looks nice and bright through the window, although BH assures me it is still cold. I had a lovely relaxing day off yesterday. A lie in until 9am, wonderful, and then BH cooked my breakfast which was delish. I checked emails and added a few new goodies to the web site and then went Easter shopping with my daughter. I bought a talking In the night garden story book toy for  Ava it has a handle on it so she will be able to carry it round with her. Ava had something similar for Christmas and it is one of her favourite toys. I also go a Maka Paka bath toy and a small Easter egg in a princess mug. I will take pictures tomorrow. All the family are coming over today and sleeping and tomorrow my Mum is coming for the day. BH will be cooking one of his big Sunday roasts, last time he did one we had so many roast vegetables I lost count how many there were mmmmm I can smell them cooking already!! lol

The laptop is doing strange things so I will publish now and pop back later. Enjoy your day and make sure you find time to craft along the way. Lynne xx
