Unable to blog!!

I have not been able to post on my blog for nearly 2 days!! Don't know the reason why just know it has been very annoying!!!

Has any one else had this problem?? I have received emails from bloggers who can not link to my blog candy!! that's very very annoying too!!! If you are one of those bloggers please leave a comment even if you can't link. I do not want anyone to miss out on the chance of candy!! :-)

Hot off the press!!!! The Copic Ciaos deliver arrived on Wednesday and I could not tell you all!!! The Copic Ciaos pens are £1.99 each and available by mail order from our studio shop. We will be adding the pens to our web site as soon as possible but we have been having problems there too!! just not been a very good week technology wise!! lol We will also be stocking the starter packs and sets, expected delivery dates and stock updates on new stock can be found (or will be available when I can update)on our website here hopefully we will be able to keep it updated!!!

Please email if you have any problems, I will do my best to keep things going by mail order while the site is acting up so please email or phone.

I planned on doing something to celebrate the birth of my gorgeous granddaughter and never got round to it!! Ava is four weeks old today so here it is!!
Lots of lovely stash!! I will keep this at the top of my blog until next Monday evening.

More Fimo Classes

Naughty but Nice!!

The new Smirk range by Kyla May arrived today and its great!! Real fun designs, tastefully foiled and glittered with cute characters on suitable for all ages!! The range consists of papers, albums, chipboard tags, shakers and clear acrylic stamps, in two designs 'Naughty but Nice' and 'Love & Friendship'.

DCWV also new in today, the Sweet stack 48 delicious 12x12 glittered papers matching chipboard tags, they are real scrummy yummy!!!! Pictures to follow, we will be adding all the new stock to the website shortly.

Pretty much the same

The view from the kitchen window this morning looks much the same as Monday!! I plan on venturing out today with the camera, yes I am going to brave the weather conditions!! I do actually like the snow and as I have no young children now to play out with I will take the dogs!! I took the dogs on Monday but forgot the camera!! lol So some more snowy scenes and then who knows maybe some wintery layouts!! :-)

The bushes are flat with the weight of the snow, looks like they've had a hair cut!! lol

Beatrix Potter Fimo Toppers and more

As promised here are some pictures from yesterdays Beatrix Potters Fimo class that for some unknown reason I could not upload last night!

I wonder what Calvin mouse over at Mad Imaginations would think to this lovely little lady mouse?? Although now he is becoming a bit of a celebrity he might not give her a second look! lol

Fimo Bev & Maddy meet up again!!

We had visitors at Craft Den yesterday Maddy & Rach travelled from Leeds for a coffee and a bit of shopping.

Fimo Bev heard Maddy was in town and popped in after work.........a lot of squeals, laughing and reminiscing took place!! lol Bev and Maddy hadn't seen one another for several years, they lost touch after Bev finshed working in Leeds....as sooooooon as they got together Rach and I couldn't get a word in, not even edge ways!! :-)

Fimo Bev was back in the studio again today for the Daffodil fairy class this morning and the Beatrix Potter card toppers this afternoon.

There are a couple of places left on next weeks Fimo floral toppers class and on 28th Feb all day workshop.

My granddaughter Ava is coming tomorrow she is nearly three weeks old!! I've not seen her for over a week, and I can't wait!!

I will hopefully be able to post some pictures tomorrow of both Ava and todays Fimo, for some unknown reason it won't let me tonight!!

Saved the best till last!!

Sorry for not been a very good blogger this week! :-( I've just been a little busy, time has just flown by, when I tell you what I've been up to I might just might be excused. First of all we are planning on extending our sales area so I have made a start on clearing the area ready. I hate sorting and tidying such a waste of good crafting time and if I wasn't such a messy and untidy crafter in the first place! lol so only me to blame!! which makes it worse!! I would have much rather been been busy crafting :-) I have also been arranging lots of new classes and workshops the new Craft Den timetable can be viewed here

The new sales area will be just for paper, in fact that's a good name for it! 'Just Paper' yes, that's right how brill will that be? one room full of 12x12s!!! and maybe a few albums thrown in for good measure. By moving all the paper racks we will gain a full display wall, for slat walling allowing us to stock more lines and free up some shelve space for some more rubber stamps!!! Wow I here you all say but wait a minute because there is more, yes more and this is the best the very best news and that's why I have saved it till last because you will just rush off to tell all your crafting buddies the good news....are you ready........we are going to be stockist of the much sort after Copic pens double WOW and we have some workshops planned with Maddy from Mad Imaginations!! triple WOW! Date to be announced, we are already taking names, for more information and to add your name to the list email info@craftden.co.uk we will let you know the date as soon as possible. Saved the best till last!! :-)

Ava

Ben, Kyla and Ava my beautiful Granddaughter have been to visit today. Guess who got all the cuddles? and soooooooo sooooooooo cute!

a little princess who was asleep all the time, I was willing her to wake up!! lol but no such luck!

Captured Fairies

A great time was had by one and all at yesterdays workshop when 'Fimo Bev' came to visit the Craft Den studio again. We all look forward to Bev calling by. The Fimo workshops are getting more and more popular. We had two ladies, Denise and Sue travel from Liverpool to join us, thanks to Maddy Hill over on Mad Imaginations who had suggest it would be worth a visit for someone wanting to learn Fimo. Maddy is 'Fimo Bev's long lost friend from several years ago. We are hoping that Maddy will also visit the Craft Den studio in the not too distant future and if we are very lucky take a workshop if we are very, very lucky perhaps tutor a joint workshop with 'Fimo Bev'. Now that would be one to book in for, two of the most talented Fimo ladies in the country taking a workshop at Craft Den. WOW!! Watch this space girls!


In the morning it was captured fairies, which everyone enjoyed making. You can read about these fairies over on Chanelle's blog 'Angelwhispers' and find out if they have been captured yet!! LOL Apparently they are tricky little characters to catch!! Here are three of them that Chanelle will be tying to catch today if she hasn't already done so. Good luck with that Chanelle and let us know how you get on!!

'Fimo Bev' will be back at Craft Den for more Fimo classes on Sat 31st Jan 1pm - 3pm showing how to make two of the lovely Beatrix Potter card toppers, Sat 7th Feb 1:30pm - 3:30pm Floral card toppers and on the Sat 28th Feb another all day Fimo workshop - in the morning it will be Fimo, the items produced will then be cooked and used on a project in the afternoon. The full Craft Den timetable can be viewed here and some pictures of the Fimo Beatrix Potter characters can be viewed here.

We are also arranging more all day and weekend workshops in scrapbooking and altered art and lots, lots more, so watch this space for dates times and prices.

By the way have you seen on Maddy's blog about the Copic class for beginners? I don't know all the details, you would have to contact Maddy herself but I do know it would be well worth attending if you can. Why not hop over to her blog now and have a look at the three examples. I visited Maddy's craft group in Leeds last week with Chanelle from Angelwhispers for a taster session and we really enjoyed ourselves. Everyone made us more than welcome but we didn't get to meet Calvin mouse and I've heard he might be attending the Copics class! LOL

A sneek peek of the Captured Fairy

There are just a few places left for Saturday mornings Fimo class, the afternoon class is very full!! No worries we have lovely big studio so there will be plenty of room for you all. Thought I would let you have a look at Saturday mornings Fimo class project, she is a lovely little 'Captured Fairy'. The captured fairy was first planned as a children's class but she is a real hit with the ladies too, and why not she is a real cutie.
......I know I know I need to brush up on my photography! lol I never get it right!!:-( lol .......to much light or not enough or in my own shadow. When I get my new camera I promise I will try harder. Now my new Granddaughter has arrived I need a new camera! lol
We had a delivery of the clear Sarah Kay stamps in the studio yesterday and they are beautiful I really love them. So I know what I am going to be using for my cards. They will be added to our website later today. I've not made a baby girl card for Ben & Kyla yet, how bad is that? I have received some gorgeous cards in fact I will make you suffer a bit more with my terrible photography and post some of them.




Thank you to every body for your lovely cards and presents I will take them all with me when I next go to visit.

Coming Home

Just a short post this morning to let you all know Kyla and Ava are both doing fine and are coming home later today. :-) Just wished I lived nearer, although I bet they don't! lol
Ben and Kyla have been taking lots of pictures at the hospital which I can't wait to get my hands on. So then there will be lots of pictures to scrapbook and make brags books with and scrapbook pages and more pages and yet more books lol yes all my all my books and pages now will have Ava on she is sooooooooooo beautiful. Ooohhhh being a Grandma is wonderful!!

Ava

As promised a photograph of our beautiful Granddaughter Ava, just 8 hours old. Both Mum and baby doing well. Thank you to eveyone for all your emails and text.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Kyla & Ben on the arrival of their daughter Ava.

Our new Granddaughter arrived this morning at 7:23am and weighed 7lb 14 oz.
Apparently Ava has chubby cheeks and lots of hair. My daughter and I will be visiting this afternoon. I will post some pictures later.

Still no news

A very quick post to let you all know that there is still no sign of our new Granddaughter. I think she knows how cold it is and has decided to stay put! LOL

Hope you are all managing to keep warm and weren't snowned in this morning. I got up to let the dogs out about 6:30am it was snowing and blowing even the dogs didn't want to go out in it who can blame them! LOL

I will post more later, it has been very quiet in the studio today so instead of tidying up I did some crafting!! What is the point of tidying up when you are just going to make more mess? LOL Catch you all later.

Hibiscus card

I've managed to fit a lot of crafting in this holiday which has been great and hope to fit in a lot more yet!! For this card I have used Hibiscus Penny Black stamp and brush markers.

Stationary Box with embellishments added

A few pictures of the mdf box with embellishments added, I have used some silk flowers, pearls, brads and lace from stash.

Gone in a flash!!

Hope you have all had a good Christmas and Santa brought you lots of goodies. All that planning and preparation, over and gone with a blink of the eye!! We had a lovely family Christmas at home. Still no news on the baby front, if she is anything like her Dad she will be late!! Ben was 5 days late. For those of you who have emailed and text about news on my expected Granddaughter, thank you and believe me you will all know when there is any news!! LOL

In the mean time to keep me out of mischief I have been doing some crafting, decorating a mdf box.

Spray box lightly all over with chosen Glimmer Mist I used Vintage Pink. Dry with heat gun, repeat process until desired effect is achieved, this is only a base covering so only a light colour is required. Lay large scroll glimmer screen over lid of box and spray lightly again with vintage pink glimmer mist.

Lightly pat the screen with kitchen paper, remove screen and dry with heat tool.

Reposition screen and lightly spray again. Repeating this process a couple more times and then spray lightly with Starfish for added depth.

This picture does not show the beautiful shimmer finish. I am now going to add some embellishment. So watch this space! LOL.

Materials used: Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Vintage Pink, Starfish & Glimmer Screens Fanciful Stencils. Blank box to be decorated, I used a mdf stationary box from the studio, it is just the right size for C6 cards/notelets and envelopes.

Cards finished, shopping to start!!!!

All the cards are now made, finished the last ones for hand delivering today, got a lot in the post on Friday and the rest yesterday, yes only just made it! I usually start making our Christmas cards in plenty of time but this year I am so last minute!! It is my last day in the studio tomorrow and then we are closed until 5th January. Not one present bought yet! Starting on Tuesday, hoping to get some bargains.

Fimo Angel

Everyone had a great time tonight at 'Fimo' Bev's class making Angels, they were lovely, real cuties! I forgot to take piccy's!! So if any of you who attended 'Fimo' Bev's class tonight would like to email photos of your little Angels I will put them in the gallery.

The Fimo classes are very popular and 'Fimo' Bev is back in the New Year with more classes. So book early to avoid disappointment.

Small World

Chanelle from Angelwhispers sent me a link to a blog she had found with lovely Fimo projects and cards on. While visiting the blog http://madimaginations.blogspot.com/ Chanelle left a comment. A few emails went back and forth a phone call was made and it turns out that our Fimo tutor 'Fimo Bev' is the long lost friend of Maddy Hill from Mad Imaginations!! They lost contact many years ago. I love little stories like that, don't you? Well done Chanelle!! you have made two crafting friends very happy.

Day 11

Have you visited Tim's blog today? If not why not? It's day 11 of the 12 tags for Christmas todays is sooooooo beautiful I absolutely love it my favourite yet although they have all been fantastic.
Booooo Hooooo :-( last day tomorrow. Tim is so inspirational the techniques and materials he uses are fantastic. The tags will left on his blog and available to view for a while yet. If you are wanting to try some of the techniques and don't have the products we stock Ranger; ink pads, distress ink and distress paint, acrylic dabbers, mini misters etc and we are hoping to get another delivery very soon as stocks are low, I wonder why?

Crafting all the way!

We had three classes at the studio yesterday, so not much time to get into mischief! In the morning a taster session of a new class that will be starting in January "Crafting with your computer" There are lots of great CDs out at the mo for printing backing papers, toppers, decoupage etc for your card making and other paper crafting projects. If you have bought or are thinking of buying some of these CDs this is the class for you.

The new timetable will be ready towards the end of next week, I am just in the middle of planning and preparing the new projects to be included.

In the afternoon we had two projects on at the same time!! yes two, a six inch version of the mini fourway folding book which is a good size for your family pics and Joanne who missed our Christmas workshop made one of the lovely Christmas tree books.

Tonight we made some quick Christmas cards with the 'Rose Tinted Christmas' papers from Dove Craft and 'Wrapped Wishes' papers from Daisy Bucket. Let me tell you I shall be making a lot of these quick cards over the next few days as I have barely made any for our family and friends yet, and as the last posting day looms and gets nearer and nearer the cards will get quicker and quicker LOL.

Fimo Bev is back in the studio again on Monday evening making Fimo Christmas Angels. Bev's classes are very popular and she will be back in the New Year on a regular basis. The 1st Fimo class next year is Sat 17th Jan 2009 and the theme will be cute card toppers.

Cards, Cards, Cards

Good Morning All. Spent most of yesterday making Christmas cards for friends and family, will have to speed up got a lot more to make yet! I started making cards in June last year. It is much better to start early and make a few every month, than to leave it all to last minute. I will post some photos later.

Tonight's Fimo workshop was another really enjoyable evening and a great success. The witches created were absolutely fab. We still have a few places left on Sat if you would like to try your hand at Fimo we will be making Grumpy.
